Traveled from Jerusalem to Damascus to persecute followers of “the Way.”
– Encountered Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus, resulting in his conversion.
– Baptized and received the Holy Spirit in Damascus.
– Journeyed to Arabia (possibly Mount Sinai) for further spiritual guidance.

Missionary Journeys (35-67 AD)

    – First journey: Southern Turkey (35-38 AD).
– Second journey: Revisited churches from the first journey and traveled to Ephesus (38-40 AD).
– Wrote 1 Corinthians during his second journey.
– Third journey: Raised support for the poor in Jerusalem, revisited original churches, and went to Ephesus again (40-52 AD).
– Spent two years in Ephesus and wrote letters to the churches at Corinth (1 Corinthians) and Rome.
– Fourth journey: Traveled to Macedonia (Philippi, Berea, Thessalonica), Corinth, back to Corinth, and then to Jerusalem (52-60 AD).
– Wrote second letter to the Corinthians from Philippi (2 Corinthians).
– Spent a good while in Corinth and wrote the letter to the church in Rome.
– Left Corinth, went back to Macedonia, visited Philippi again, and then traveled to Jerusalem where he was arrested (60 AD).

Arrest, Trial, and House Arrest (60-67 AD)

    – Arrested in Jerusalem, spent two years in a jail in Caesarea.
– Appealed to the emperor and traveled by ship to Rome.
– Shipwrecked on his way to Rome and eventually arrived in Rome.
– Spent the remainder of his life under house arrest in Rome, writing letters that are now known as the prison epistles (62-67 AD).

Lesson Summary

    – Apostle Paul’s journeys took him throughout the Roman Empire and significantly impacted early Christianity.
– His travels were marked by encounters with Jesus Christ, spiritual growth, and the establishment of new churches.
– Paul’s letters to various churches are an essential part of the New Testament in the Bible.

Additional Resources

    –
