We will examine several examples of prophetic predictions and their subsequent fulfillment, providing insights into the divine nature of the scriptures.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"prophecy-and-evidence\">\n<h2>What is Prophecy?<\/h2>\n<p>A prophecy is a prediction or foretelling about something or someone in the future. The Bible contains numerous predictions about the coming Messiah and the Kingdom of God.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"divine-inspiration\">\n<h2>Divinely Inspired Prophecies<\/h2>\n<p>The apostle Peter explained in 2 Peter 1:20 that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one&#8217;s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"fulfilled-prophecies\">\n<h2>Sample of Fulfilled Prophecies<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Seed of Man:<\/strong> Genesis 3:15 predicts the enmity between the offspring of Satan and that of Eve, foretelling the coming Messiah who would crush the serpent&#8217;s head (Hebrews 2:14).<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Birth of a King:<\/strong> Prophecies in Isaiah and Micah predicted the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, which was fulfilled at his birth (Matthew 2:1-6).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Betrayal and Reward:<\/strong> Zechariah prophesied that the Messiah&#8217;s betrayer would receive thirty pieces of silver, which Judas Iscariot did indeed betray Jesus for (Matthew 27:3-5).<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Crucifixion:<\/strong> Psalm 22 foretold details of the Messiah&#8217;s crucifixion, such as being pierced, soldiers gambling for his clothing, and none of his bones being broken (Matthew 27:35; John 19:36).<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Burial:<\/strong> Isaiah prophesied that the Messiah would be buried in a rich man&#8217;s tomb, which Jesus was laid to rest in by Joseph of Arimathea (Matthew 27:57-60).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Resurrection:<\/strong> Psalm 16 foretold the Messiah&#8217;s resurrection three days after his death, which was fulfilled with Jesus&#8217; rising from the dead (Matthew 28:1-7).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/section>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/exploringthebible.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/fulfilled_prophecies_as_evidence_for_divine_inspiration_49a540.webp\" alt=\"Image 2\"><\/figure>\n<section id=\"conclusion\">\n<h2>Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p>The fulfillment of numerous prophecies in the Bible provides evidence for its divine inspiration.
